Hi guys! Today we are taking you to Osaka, the street food capital of Japan.

Mimaru Hotel Apartment Tour in Osaka, Japan

While in Osaka, we stayed at another Mimaru Hotel, which was a bit different from the one in Tokyo. Our large apartment came with a bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom, and a convertible living space โ€” plenty of room for us to be comfortable during our stay. Walking Tour - First Impression of Osaka

Whenever we visit a new city, we love going on a walking tour to get to know the place better, and that's exactly what we did in Osaka. Our tour guide was fantastic, giving us loads of info about the city.

Our first stop was Kuromon Ichiba, also known as the Black Gate Market. We saw everything from food and spices to shoes and clothing. The highlight? Seeing the puffer fish, which requires a special license to prepare due to its toxicity.

Osaka Nipponbashi - Maid Cafe Street

Next, we wandered into Nipponbashi, the popular Maid Cafe Street, where waitresses and hostesses are dressed as maids. It was a unique and fun experience!

For lunch, we hit up a Kaiten-Zushi restaurant (Rotating Sushi), where we enjoyed a contactless way to order and receive our food. It was not only delicious but also a lot of fun.

We also love visiting local stores whenever we travel. This time, we checked out a big chain store called Don Quijote, similar to Walmart, and then a few department stores. Rainy days are perfect for shopping, so we spent some time exploring both local and international brands around Osaka's busiest shopping spots.

Osaka vs Tokyo: Whatโ€™s Your Favorite?ย

In just a short time, we got a great feel for Osaka, and we couldn't help but compare it to Tokyo. Honestly, I think we might prefer Osaka after all. Have you been to Japan? Whatโ€™s your favorite city?

Waiting in Line for Sushi: Worth It or Not?

As we mentioned, Osaka is famous for its street food, so we dedicated an entire evening to trying all sorts of delicious street eats. We even waited an hour for sushi, but it was totally worth it. Every bite was amazing.
